(A) The Board shall be composed of four members, and a member of the Board of School Trustees, ex-officio. The President of the Town Council shall select the regular members on the basis of their interests in and knowledge of parks and recreation, but no more than two members shall be of the same political party. The ex-officio member shall be selected by the Board of School Trustees, which shall also fill any vacancy that may occur in the ex-officio member.
(B) As a Board member’s term expires, each new appointment shall be made by the President of the Town Council for a four-year term. All terms shall expire on January 1, but an appointee shall continue until his or her successor is appointed. All reappointments to the Board shall be made by the President of the Town Council by the first Monday of each year or the incumbent shall continue to serve another four-year term. If a vacancy on the Board occurs, the President of the Town Council shall appoint a member for the unexpired term.
