A. Vision: The vision of the parks committee is to create, sustain, and preserve excellent parks, trails, and open spaces to enhance the lives of current and future generations of Albertville residents.
B. Mission: The mission of the parks committee is to contribute vision, leadership, and recommendations to the Albertville city council for the best use and development of Albertville's parks, trails, and open spaces.
C. Purpose: The purpose for which this parks committee is organized shall be to work as a team to:
1. Study and determine the park, recreation, and open space needs of the city and serve as an advisory body providing recommendations to the city council on matters pertaining to the planning, programming, evaluating, and funding of park and recreation facilities and programs.
2. Recommend annual priorities to the city council, with reference to the city of Albertville master plan for parks, trails and open space, for the acquisition, development, operation, and maintenance of recreation areas, natural areas, facilities, and programs. The recommended annual plan for the ensuing fiscal year, together with an estimate of the cost thereof, shall be submitted no later than July 1 for the following calendar year.
