6-2-13: IMPOUNDMENT OF DOGS:
   A.   The animal control authority shall seize and impound any dogs running at large. To enforce this chapter, the animal control authority may enter upon any private premises in pursuit of a dog running at large. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to interfere with the animal control authority engaged in taking a dog hereunder for impounding or to refuse to surrender a dog to the animal warden for confinement as required.
   B.   The animal control authority may seize or impound any dog found astray on public property or claimed to be astray by the owner of the premises upon which such animal may be found; provided, that the owner of the premises demands such seizure or impoundment and agrees in writing to indemnify and hold harmless the City from any claim for damages by the owner of said dog. Disposition of such impounded stray shall thereafter be pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. (Ord. 2007-04, 4-2-2007; amd. Ord. 2021-11, 8-2-2021)
