The Board of Officers or City Council may dismiss probationary firefighters at any time during the probationary period if the employee’s performance does not meet the required standards as outlined in the Fire Department’s Standard Operating Policies and Procedures. The City Council may also dismiss regular firefighters or may remove appointed Officers of the Department for cause.
