5-6-4: PUBLIC PROPERTY; DESTRUCTION OF VEGETATION:
   A.   Prohibitions: Except as provided in section 5-6-3 of this chapter, no person shall intentionally:
      1.   Damage, cut, carve, transplant or remove any tree, plant or shrub;
      2.   Damage any tree or shrub by attaching any rope, wire, nails, posters or any other contrivance to the tree or shrub;
      3.   Allow any gaseous, liquid or solid substance which is harmful to trees or shrubs to come into contact with them;
      4.   Set fire or permit fire to burn where such fire or the heat thereof will injure any portion of any tree or shrub;
      5.   Dig in or otherwise disturb public grass areas; or
      6.   In any other way injure or impair the natural beauty or usefulness of any public property.
   B.   Restitution To City: Any person impairing, damaging, breaking, severely destroying or removing a tree, shrub or plant on public property shall make restitution to the city for the value of the tree, plant or shrub. (Ord. 2004-15)
