§ 31.05 CALLING ASSISTANCE OF CITIZENS AT FIRES.
   During the continuance of any fire, the Chief and each member of the Fire Department shall have the power to call on any person to assist in extinguishing the fire, or in removing any goods, wares, merchandise, or furniture from any building on fire, or in danger, to some place of safety. No person shall fail to obey any order given for this purpose. It shall be the duty of any able-bodied male person present at any fire at the command of the Chief, to assist the firemen in managing the hose or other equipment, or to perform any reasonable service looking toward the prevention or extinguishing of the fire.
