SECTION 2.4. MAYOR PRO TEMPORE.
   In accordance with applicable State law, the City Council shall elect one of its members to act as Mayor pro tempore to perform the duties of the Mayor in the Mayor's absence or disability. In the event of a vacancy in the office of the Mayor, the Mayor pro tempore shall perform the duties of the Mayor until the vacancy is filled. The Mayor pro tempore shall serve in such capacity for a term of four years.
