(A) Comp time may be a result of unpaid overtime worked or holiday time not received on the designated date.
(B) Having a beeper and being on standby does not constitute earning comp time.
(C) Comp time is computed two ways:
(1) First five hours over standard work week at hour for hour, for utility workers. Comp time for police employees may be used in lieu of overtime.
(2) Overtime hours accrue at one and one-half times hours worked. For example: four hours worked equals six hours of comp time.
(D) The dates for using compensatory time off are to be agreed upon between the employee and the supervisor, and may not be granted if work schedule, number of employees already granted time off, or number of accumulated comp time hours are excessive. This decision is at the discretion of the supervisor.
(E) Comp time shall be used within 90 days from the day incurred based on the constraints of division (D) above; for example: worked over on January 10 and requested that it be comp time which then needs to be used by April 10. Comp time not used by the end of the allowed deadline will be forfeited. Approved and reported comp time is not eligible for pay.
