(A) In the event of death in an employee's and his/her spouse's immediate family (spouse, children, sister, brother, mother, father, grandparent, and grandchild), such employee shall be granted time off with pay up to a maximum of three work days. This applies when the funeral services are conducted within a 150 mile radius of Albany. Bereavement pay for such absence shall be regular pay for hourly employees or scheduled number of hours.
(B) Four work days will be granted as time off when funeral services are conducted beyond a 150 mile radius of Albany.
(C) Five work days will be granted as time off when funeral services are conducted beyond a 500 mile radius of Albany.
(D) Noted exceptions to bereavement pay are:
(1) Hours worked on bereavement day are deducted from standard work day.
(2) Weekends or holidays within the bereavement period are reduced from paid days.
(E) Proof of the death may be required.
