(A) The Police Department of the town is authorized, pursuant to law I.C. 9-29-4-2 et seq. to inspect motor vehicles, semi-trailers and recreational vehicles, the owner(s) of which have made application for certificates of title and registration.
(B) Before any inspection shall be made, the Police Department shall collect a $5 fee, which shall be deposited by the Clerk-Treasurer into the Police Department’s Police Continued Education Fund, to be expended at the discretion of the Police Chief for any Department purpose reasonably related to the keeping of accident reports and records or the prevention of street and highway accidents.
(C) The procedures and definitions contained in I.C. 9-29-4-2, as amended, are adopted and incorporated by reference in this section.
