12-1-7: BASIS FOR ESTABLISHING SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD AREAS:
The special flood hazard areas identified by the federal emergency management agency in a scientific and engineering report entitled, β€œThe Flood Insurance Study for Washington County, Colorado and Incorporated Areas,” dated May 18, 2021, with accompanying flood insurance rate maps and/or flood boundary-floodway maps (FIRM and/or FBFM) and any revisions thereto, are hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this section. These special flood hazard areas identified by the flood insurance study and attendant mapping are the minimum area of applicability of this section and may be supplemented by studies designated and approved by the board of trustees for the town of Akron. The floodplain administrator shall keep a copy of the flood insurance study (FIS), DFIRMs, FIRMs and/or FBFMs on file and available for public inspection. (Ord. 508, 4-1-2013; amd. Ord. 573, 4-5-2021)
