Whenever any rank vegetation is found to be maintained in violation of § 94.22, the landowner shall be given a written notice by the Clerk-Treasurer describing the nature and location of the violation and directing the landowner to remove the rank vegetation or otherwise abate the violation within five days of the date of service of the notice. The notice shall be served by the Town Marshal on the landowner or his or her proper representative in person if he or she is a resident of the town, or by registered mail if he or she is a nonresident.
