§ 73.05 RECOVERY OF UNLICENSED BICYCLES, MOTORIZED BICYCLES AND MOTOR SCOOTERS; IMPOUNDMENT AND RECOVERY FEE; SALE OF UNCLAIMED VEHICLES.
   (A)   Unlicensed bicycles, motorized bicycles and motor scooters which are recovered by the Akron Police Department shall be kept in a secure location for one year in accordance with I.C. 5-22-22 awaiting their identification by the lawful owner. When properly identified, the owner may obtain release of the vehicle by paying an impoundment fee of $5 and registering the vehicle, if applicable. Bicycles, motorized bicycles and motor scooters not claimed within one year shall be sold at public auction at a time and place set and advertised by the Akron Town Council in accordance with I.C. 36-1-11-6, if applicable, or may be sold at public or private sale in accordance with I.C. 36-1-11-6 if the latter is applicable.
   (B)   All proceeds of the sale after payment of any expenses incurred shall escheat to and become the property of the town for deposit in the General Fund and for the use and benefit of the town.
