After 31 days of the effective date of this chapter, all bicycles, motorized bicycles and motor scooters as defined in § 73.01 which are usually housed or garaged within the corporate limits of the town shall be registered with the Akron Police Department on forms to be provided at the Department office. Thereafter, the owner of any bicycle, motorized bicycle or motor scooter (other than a dealer who keeps and housed such vehicles for purposed of resale) shall obtain the registration and license when required under this section within 31 days of acquiring or bringing the bicycle, motorized bicycle or motor scooter into the town. An adhesive metal license tag will then be provided which shall be placed vertically on the seat post of the bike where it can be readily seen. There is no fee for this license.
