§ 32.01 GENERAL ORGANIZATION AND AUTHORITY.
   (A)   A Marshal's Police Department is established to assist the Town Marshal in the execution of his or her duties, the enforcement of laws and the preservation of order within the town. A Marshal shall be appointed by the Town Council. Deputy Town Marshals shall be appointed by the Marshal as authorized by this chapter.
   (B)   A Marshal serves at the pleasure of the Council, and Deputy Marshals serve at the pleasure of the Marshal until each has completed the mandatory basic training requirements under Indiana law and the statutorily established probationary period (or town established probationary period, whichever is less). Thereafter, the members of the Department shall serve upon good behavior.
   (C)   Reserve Deputy Marshals (nonpay status) may be appointed by the Marshal as established by this chapter. Reserve Deputy Marshals may be dismissed at any time by the Marshal without cause.
