For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning. When not inconsistent with the context, words used in the present tense include the future and words in the singular number include the plural. The word “shall” is defined as mandatory and not merely directory.
COMMISSION. The Akron Tree Commission.
MUNICIPAL PROPERTY. A parkway, parking lot, or other property under the control or jurisdiction of the town.
PARK TREE. Any tree or shrub in public parks designated by signage or in areas of land to which the public has free access as a park.
PERSON. Any public or private individual, group, company, firm, corporation, partnership, association, society or any other combination of human beings whether legal or natural.
PUBLIC STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY. The width between the property line abutting a street, alley, or boulevard.
STREET TREE. Any tree in a public street right-of-way.
TOWN. The Town of Akron.
