No pipe of the municipal water supply system shall be connected with any pump, well or tank that is connected with any other source of water supply. When any such connection is found, the Public Utilities Commission shall notify the owner to sever the connection and if this is not done immediately, the Public Utilities staff will shut off the municipal water supply to that property. Before any new connection is made to the municipal water system, the Public Utilities staff shall ascertain that no cross connection will exist when the new connection is made.
