§ 34.051 EMERGENCY CLOSINGS.
   (A)   At times, emergencies, such as severe weather, fires, power failures or earthquakes, can disrupt governmental operations. In extreme cases, these circumstances may require the closing of a work facility. In the event that such an emergency occurs during non-working hours, local radio and/or television stations will be asked to broadcast notification of the closing.
   (B)   When facilities are officially closed due to an emergency declared by the Town Council, the time off from scheduled work for full-time non-exempt employees will be paid their regular pay. Part- time employees who are scheduled to work on a day the operations are closed will also be paid their regular pay.
   (C)   Employees in essential operations may be asked to work on a day when operations are officially closed. In these circumstances, employees who work will receive their regular pay for all hours worked.
   (D)   In county declared weather-related emergencies, employees who can safely travel to and from work may be asked by their department head or elected official to report for work due to the office workload or time-sensitive nature of the work to be performed.
   (E)   When operations are not officially closed, but some employees are unable to get to report for work, employees may use vacation days, paid time off or unpaid time off.
