§ 34.025 SENIORITY.
   (A)   SENIORITY is defined, for purposes of this chapter, as the uninterrupted length of continuous service in the employment of the town.
   (B)   An authorized leave of absence does not constitute a break in service and seniority time continues to accumulate during the term of the leave if the employee returns to service following such authorized leave.
   (C)   If an employee is terminated from employment for any reason other than layoff, a break in service and seniority occurs, if the employee is “reinstated” within one year of his or her termination; however, continuous service is not deemed to have been broken and seniority credit is given for such prior service. Seniority shall continue commencing with the employee’s first day of actual employment upon being reinstated. An employee who is reinstated within one year of the date of layoff retains previously accumulated seniority but not seniority credit for time spent while on layoff.
   (D)   The Clerk-Treasurer will maintain the town’s seniority lists for purposes of work assignments, shift assignments, filling vacancies and other internal procedures (i.e., days off).
