The provisions of this chapter do not apply to nor restrict the use of firearms, air guns, archery weapons or dangerous projectiles by the following persons:
(A) A police officer or other person lawfully authorized to exercise police power and acting within the context of and to the extent necessary to perform his or her police functions;
(B) A member of the armed forces of the United States or of an allied military force acting within the context of and to the extent necessary to perform his or her military duties; and
(C) A person acting in the defense of his or her own life or property or that of another person, to the extent deemed reasonable and justifiable by law.
