SCHEDULE III. INTERSECTIONS; STOP AND THROUGH STREETS.
   (A)   General. When stop signs are erected at or near the entrance to any intersection, every driver of a vehicle shall stop such vehicle at such sign or at a clearly marked stop line before entering the intersection, except when directed to proceed by a police officer or traffic-control sign.

   (B)   Recognizance and enforcement of state highway intersection controls.
      (1)   It is hereby noted that Main Street, being S.R. 75, has been made a preferential street and stop signs or signals have been erected and maintained, by the state’s Department of Highways, at the intersections of the following town streets and Main Street:

      (2)   A person violating a stop sign or signal, as noted in this division (B), shall be cited for a state offense under state law and subject to penalties as provided in I.C. 9-30 et seq. (Class C infraction).

   (C)   Preferential town streets designated; one-way and two-way stop intersections; penalties.
      (1)   The following named or described streets, alleys or other thoroughfares, as indicated in the following table, are designated stop streets at their point of intersection with the correspondingly designated preferential (through) street, and all vehicles approaching the intersection along the stop street must come to a complete stop and give safe right-of-way to any vehicles on the preferential street before entering the intersection:

      (2)   A person who violates this division (C), when signs are erected, shall be cited for a town ordinance violation, and shall be liable to a fine in the amount as shall be set by the Town Council from time to time.
