§ 70.27 DISPOSITION OF TOWN TRAFFIC FINES; STREET TRAFFIC IMPROVEMENT ACCOUNT.
   All traffic fines collected by the Clerk-Treasurer or remitted to the town by a court for violation of traffic regulations established by town ordinance and which have been cited and prosecuted as town ordinance violations shall be deposited in the General Fund, in accordance with state law, and credited to a special subsidiary account to be known as the “Street Traffic Improvement Account”, which is hereby created and monies credited to which shall be used exclusively in the construction, maintenance and repair of public streets, bridges and street structures, or for the installation and maintenance of traffic-control devices and street lights thereon, and for defraying costs of enforcement of local and state traffic laws and regulations. Fines imposed for violation of state traffic laws or regulations, or of local regulations cited as state violations under state law, shall accrue to the state’s General Fund as provided by law.
