§ 70.26 COLLECTION OF TRAFFIC FINES AND FORFEITURES.
   (A)   Unless otherwise provided, fines stipulated for violations of town traffic ordinances may, within five days of the violation and citation, be paid directly to the Clerk-Treasurer in settlement of the complaint.
   (B)   However, except as hereinafter provided, fines for the following violations may not be paid to nor directly collected by the Clerk-Treasurer, but may be paid, along with associated court costs and state fees (as applicable), to the clerk of the court in which the complaint is filed:
      (1)   Violations cited by the enforcement officer as state law violations;
      (2)   Violations cited by the enforcement officer as town ordinance violations, but which are moving violations required to be reported to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, pursuant to state law, including, but not necessarily limited to:
         (a)   Violation of town speed limits;
         (b)   Failure to obey stop or yield signs or signals; and/or
         (c)   Prohibited turning movements.
      (3)   Violations cited as town ordinance violations and which have already been filed and docketed with a court after expiration of the five-day period during which fines could have been paid directly to the town, pursuant to Ch. 11 of this code of ordinances.
