§ 50.27 APPEALS OF OVERDUE UTILITY BILL; PAYMENT EXTENSIONS.
A utility customer who has an overdue utility bill may file a written appeal, extension form, with the utility governing body for an extension of payment, and then the utility governing body may grant such appeal either conditionally or unconditionally, if it can be shown that there exists an extraordinary hardship or similar unusual circumstances whereby the customer is unable to pay the bill in a timely manner. The Town Council may grant a requested extension or a lesser extension, or may permit partial installment payments at stipulated times. Such extension or installment payments do not absolve the customer from delinquency charges under § 50.23 of this chapter. When an extension or installment payments are permitted, disconnection procedures under § 50.26 of this chapter shall be stayed until the extension has expired. If the customer does not comply with the extension form agreement, the extension on payments at that point is null and void, disconnection will occur the following day after non- compliance.
