(A) In the event that an employee intends to resign, he or she should notify the Town Council or department head, as appropriate, in writing at least two weeks in advance of the effective date in order to assure continuity of operations.
(B) (1) An employee who resigns while in good standing with the town may be “reinstated” to the same or similar position at the discretion of the Town Council and department head within one year following the effective date of the resignation, thereby preserving certain seniority rights.
(2) After the expiration of one year, a former employee is eligible for rehire.
