§ 34.094 EMPLOYEE CONDUCT AND WORK RULES.
   (A)   To ensure orderly operations and provide the best possible work environment, the town expects employees to follow rules of conduct that will protect the interests and safety of all employees and the organization.
   (B)   It is not possible to list all the forms of behavior that are considered unacceptable in the workplace. The following are examples of infractions of rules of conduct that may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment:
      (1)   Theft or inappropriate removal or possession of property;
      (2)   Fighting or threatening violence in the workplace;
      (3)   Boisterous or disruptive activity in the workplace;
      (4)   Negligence or improper conduct leading to damage of employer-owned or customer-owned property;
      (5)   Insubordination or other disrespectful conduct;
      (6)   Violation of safety or health rules;
      (7)   Smoking in prohibited areas;
      (8)   Possession of dangerous or unauthorized materials, such as explosives or firearms, in the workplace;
      (9)   Excessive absenteeism or any absence without notices;
      (10)   Unauthorized disclosure of business “secrets” or confidential information;
      (11)   Violation of personnel policies;
      (12)   Unsatisfactory performance or conduct;
      (13)   Unnecessary visits by employees to other offices;
      (14)   Conducting personal business during normal working hours to the extent that it interferes with the employees duties and responsibilities; and
      (15)   Inappropriate personal use of computers.
   (C)   Employment with the town is at the mutual consent of the town and the employee, and either party may terminate that relationship at any time, with or without cause, and with or without advance notice in accordance with federal and state laws.
