A. The City Council authorizes the City Engineer to provide and maintain painted crosswalk markings or other appropriately devised symbols or warning signs at any intersection whenever a traffic engineering investigation indicates that such markings, symbols or signs would facilitate the orderly movement of pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
B. Removal. Whenever the City Engineer, upon the basis of a traffic engineering investigation, finds that the conditions for which painted crosswalk markings or other appropriately devised symbols or warning signs at any intersection have been provided and maintained as provided in Subsection A. of this Section no longer exist, the City Engineer shall remove such markings, symbols or signs at such crosswalk.
