(A) Initial appointments to the Park and Recreation Board shall be as follows:
(1) One member for a term of one year to be appointed by the Judge of the Circuit Court;
(2) One member for a term of two years to be appointed by the Board of Commissioners of the county;
(3) One member for a term of two years to be appointed by the County Council;
(4) One member for a term of three years to be appointed by the Judge of the Circuit Court; and
(5) One member for a term of four years to be appointed by the County Council.
(B) As a term expires, each new appointment will be for a four-year term. All terms will expire on the first Monday in January, but a member continues in office until his or her successor is appointed.
(C) In making initial appointments, the appointing authority, in order to provide continuity of experience in programs, shall give special consideration to the appointment of members from previous Park or Recreation Boards.
(D) If a vacancy on the Board occurs, the appointing authority shall appoint a person to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term.
