(A) In the event the owner or harborer of an animal delivered to the County Animal Shelter is reasonably ascertainable, the operator of said shelter shall make a good faith effort to contact such individual for the purpose of notifying said individual that said animal has been delivered to said shelter and that said animal must be claimed within five regular business days after the date on which said animal was delivered to said shelter or such animal shall be deemed abandoned and shall become the property of the operator of said shelter.
(B) The operator of said shelter shall contact the owner or harborer of an animal delivered to the County Animal Shelter by telephone or by first class mail, if the owner or harborer is known or is reasonably ascertainable. The operator will give notice at the earliest reasonable opportunity and shall document the type of notice given. The operator shall allow said owner or harborer reasonable opportunity to timely claim said animal.
