§ 70.01 FEE FOR MOTOR VEHICLE INSPECTIONS.
   (A)   Purpose. The purpose of this section is to provide for the establishment and collection of fees for the inspection of motor vehicles by the County Sheriff’s Department, as authorized and provided for by I.C. 9-17-2-12.
   (B)   Fees. The County Sheriff’s Department may charge a fee for the inspection of any and all motor vehicles, semi-trailers, or recreational vehicles, other than new motor vehicles, semi-trailers, or recreational vehicles, sold by dealers licensed in the state, or motor vehicles transferred or assigned, on a certificate of title issued by the State Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
      (1)   Collection of fees. The County Sheriff’s Department shall collect a fee of $5 for each vehicle inspected pursuant to division (B) above.
      (2)   Accounting for fees. All fees collected by said County Sheriff’s Department shall be accounted for in detail, and written records shall be kept by said Department concerning said collection of fees.
      (3)   Disposition of fees. All fees collected by said County Sheriff’s Department shall be transferred to the General Fund of the county.
