As used in this subchapter, the term QUALIFIED INDIVIDUAL shall have the following meaning. A QUALIFIED INDIVIDUAL is a person who was a resident of the county at the time of their death and had served as a soldier, sailor, or marine in the Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, or Navy of the United States, or as a member of the women’s component of the Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, or Navy of the United States, and died while a member of the Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, or Navy of the United States and before discharge or after receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, or Navy of the United States.
