The special flood hazard areas identified by the federal emergency management agency on the flood insurance rate maps (FIRM) for the town of Akron, Colorado, dated April 1, 1988, and any revisions thereto are hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this chapter. These special flood hazard areas identified by the FIS and attendant mapping are the minimum area of applicability of this chapter and may be supplemented by studies designated and approved by the board of trustees for the town. The floodplain administrator shall keep a copy of the flood insurance study (FIS), DFIRMs, FIRMs and/or FBFMs on file and available for public inspection. (Ord. 508, 4-1-2013)
