9-7-2: LOCATION RESTRICTIONS:
   A.   No fence composed of more than thirty percent (30%) solid material or more than three feet four inches (3'4") high may be located within thirty feet (30') of a street intersection. (2006 Code § 4-6-1; amd. 2016 Code)
   B.   Except as provided in subsection A of this section:
      1.   Fences less than four feet four inches (4'4") high may be located on any part of a lot.
      2.   Fences no more than six feet four inches (6'4") high may be erected on those parts of a lot that are as far back or farther back from a street than the main building.
      3.   Corner lots which have rear yards abutting each other may have fences no more than six feet four inches (6'4") high erected on that part of the lot which is at least as far back from the front of the lot as the front building line. Corner lots which have rear yards abutting each other need have only one front yard, which shall be in the front of the main building. The building official shall maintain a diagram to illustrate the requirements of this subsection B3, and a copy of said diagram shall remain on file with the city clerk.
      4.   Corner lots which have rear yards abutting the side yard of an adjacent lot may have fences less than six feet four inches (6'4") high erected on that part of the corner lot which is at least as far back from the street fronting said lot as the front building line; provided, that one of the following additional requirements is met:
         a.   The fence shall cut off at a ninety degree (90°) angle for a distance at least equal to the minimum front lot requirement for the district at that point on the rear lot line of the corner lot which intersects with the front building line of the adjacent lot, after which distance, the fence may cut back at an angle of at least ninety degrees (90°) to the side lot line of the corner lot. The building official shall maintain a diagram to illustrate the requirements of this subsection B4a, and a copy of said diagram shall remain on file with the city clerk.
         b.   The fence shall cut off at a minimum of a forty five degree (45°) angle from that point on the rear lot line of the corner lot which intersects with the front building line of the adjacent lot, to the side lot line of the corner lot. The building official shall maintain a diagram to illustrate the requirements of this subsection B4b, and a copy of said diagram shall remain on file with the city clerk. (2006 Code § 4-6-1)
   C.   The provisions herein for fences may be considered as exceptions to the yard requirements. (2006 Code § 4-6-2)
