1-5-1: QUALIFICATIONS; TERM OF OFFICE:
The mayor shall be the chief executive officer of the city. He shall be a qualified elector of the city and shall have resided within the city at least one year next preceding the election. He shall hold the office for four (4) years and until a successor is elected and has qualified. (2006 Code § 2-1-1)
