5-1-1: DEPARTMENT CREATED; COMPOSITION:
There is hereby created a department of police, which shall be known as the ABINGDON POLICE DEPARTMENT. The department shall consist of the chief of police, who shall be director of the department, and such other police officers as may be determined from time to time by the city council. (2006 Code § 6-1-1)
