Hearings to consider the revocation, suspension, approval, or denial of licenses issued by Salt Lake City Corporation shall be held by or at the direction of the mayor. Notwithstanding the provisions of any other ordinance pertaining to hearings before the mayor for the suspension or revocation of licenses, such hearings may be held either before the mayor, or before any hearing examiner who has been appointed by the mayor, upon the advice and consent of the city council, to conduct such hearings.
