54-9-9: DISPOSAL:
   ∙    Vehicles/equipment shall be disposed of through City surplus and salvage property disposal means as directed by the Purchasing Division. A leased vehicle is not subject to these requirements at the termination of the lease period as it is not a purchase or capitalized asset. Certain grant funded vehicles may have unique disposal requirements. Departments must turn in to the Fleet Division all fuel card(s) associated with a City owned/operated vehicle/equipment that has been turned in for disposal.
   ∙    Dispose of surplus vehicles promptly, in accordance with City surplus property procedures. The Fleet and Purchasing Division must coordinate meeting all surplus requirements including all necessary documents to avoid unnecessary delays that may contribute to increased depreciation.
   ∙    The Fleet Division will prepare vehicles for disposal by using the least costly resources for the best sales price.
